Contemporary Himalayan Art
Since 17th August, Tallinn 2011

At the Temnikova & Kasela Gallery you have an opportunity to discover the creations of young Tibetan artists, who are key figures in the field of contemporary Tibetan visual art. Their creations offer a chance to glimpse into their minds and discover how they perceive their magical, often historically and traditionally segregated motherland. How have they balanced their creation between politics, religion and intruding commercial globalism in Tibetan society? Such a rapidly developing environment as Tibet offers endless inspiration. Artists inspired by personal experiences and different educations add a refreshing stylistic versatility to the exhibition. Despite that, all artworks reflect on their immanent Buddhist harmony. The earthly colour palette, traditional patterns, details and symbols are combined into an unforgettably profound aesthetical experience. This exhibition is for everyone who enjoys contemporary arts, eastern religions and particularly the symbiosis of the two.
