In October 20 – 23 of this year the Himalaya Film Days will take place for the second time in Tallinn, Estonia.
Himalaya Film Days are presented by the Society of Himalayan Cultures, an independent non-profit organization with an aim to create awareness of social and cultural issues of the Himalayas in order to promote cross-cultural understanding.
With the Himalaya Film Days, we intend to show films and documentaries with a cultural sensibility and provide the general public with a special insight into the region. We explore lesser known issues, new outsiders’ perceptions of the region, as well as fresh streams of self-reflection in cultures and communities of the Himalayas – for this the event will also promote filmmakers and artists from the Himalayan areas. Next year we plan the events will feature a cultural programme of music and visual art
